Each of the staff members at Covington Memorial Funeral Home is committed to providing your family with the finest in personal care. In fact, for years, it’s been comforting for area families to know that we are available to help at any time of the day or night.

When a loved one dies, all you need to do is make one phone call. From that moment on, we’ll take on the responsibilities of the physical care of your loved one, and the emotional care of those left behind.

Richard Overhiser, Funeral Director / Manager

Raised in Middlebury, Richard came to Fort Wayne in 1984 after earning an associate's degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is a member of the Northpark Community Church and enjoys traveling and collecting. He looks forward to serving the funeral needs of the Fort Wayne and surrounding areas.

Cynthia Wilcken, Funeral Director

Cindy brings more than 15 years of funeral service experience to Covington. She is a 2002 graduate of Mid-America College of Mortuary Science in Jeffersonville and moved to Fort Wayne from the Lake Wawasee area.

Pam Porter, Funeral Home Administrator

Pam joined the staff in August 2004. She is a Fort Wayne resident and member of Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church, where she also teaches Sunday school. As an Indiana-certified social worker, she also serves the court as a guardian ad litem, and is a member of the Governor's Council for People with Disabilities.

Arlan Birkey, Funeral Assistant

Arlan has served Covington families as a greeter and removal technician since April 2011. He is a retired Greek and New Testament professor from Fort Wayne Bible College-Taylor University. He and his wife, Sally, attend Life Community Church, where he teaches Bible study class on a regular basis.

Kent Mick, Funeral Assistant

With his warm smile and sincere heart, Kent began assisting with services at the funeral home in April 2009. He has lived in Roanoke since 2001, and is active at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. He also is an avid quilter with five books on the subject to be published in 2014.

Karen Bloemker, Cemetery Administrator

Karen began working for the cemetery in June 2013, but previously worked as a teacher and billing investigator. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, she is a former volunteer at Parkview Hospital and earned college degrees in education and mathematics. She has five cats and enjoys seeing the woodland animals that live in the woods near her home. She also enjoys reading and paper crafts.

Jama Rogers, Cemetery Administrator

Since joining the staff in August 1978, Jama (Levandoski) Rogers has been involved with every aspect of cemetery operations administration. She lives in Fort Wayne with her husband, Will, and enjoys spending time at their lake cottage, swimming, boating, fishing and playing euchre. She is the daughter of James Finley, who was a partner in Bender Funeral Home in North Manchester, and has one daughter, Beth, who is enrolled in the School of the Arts Institute in Chicago.

Rick Gaddis, Cemetery Grounds Crew

Rick started at Covington in April 2005 and brought a tremendous amount of knowledge with him from his previous experience in the burial vault manufacturing industry. He specializes in preparation for cemetery graveside and committal services. He lives in Fort Wayne with his wife, Deb, and has two children and three grandchildren. He enjoys boating and fishing on Upper Long Lake and is an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
